The following is a broad description of the way the Swanage School processes personal information. Reasons/purposes for processing information

We process personal information to enable us to:

  • provide education, training, welfare and educational support services

We also use CCTV and biometric systems to maintain security.

  • disciplinary and attendance records

  • education and employment details
  • visual images, biometrics

We may, where processing is necessary for the purpose of carrying out our employment and safeguarding obligations also collect, hold and share sensitive data including:

  • physical or mental health details
  • racial or ethnic origin
  • religious or other beliefs of a similar nature
  • political opinions
  • sexual life/ gender orientation
  • trade union membership
  • offences and alleged offences (including criminal proceedings and outcomes)

Who the information is processed about

We process personal information about our:

  • students
  • employees and volunteers
  • trustees and members of the trust
  • sponsors and supporters
  • suppliers
  • enquirers and complainants
  • individuals captured by CCTV images

Who the information may be shared with

We sometimes need to share the personal information we process with the individual themselves and also with other organisations. Where this is necessary we are required to comply with all aspects of General Data Protection Requirements (GDPR). What follows is a description of the types of organisations we may need to share some of the personal information we process with for one or more reasons.

Transferring information overseas

Personal information will be held and processed securely and will not be transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) except to those countries or international organisations which are deemed suitable by the ICO).
