Our Facilities
The Swanage School was built in 2014 and provides state-of-the-art learning spaces which mirror the school's innovative approach to teaching.
The school is centered around a large atrium which is used for a variety of things including whole-school assemblies, lectures, events and performances, as well as acting as the dining room for lunch.
The gull-wing building designed by architect Jestico + Whiles contains maths, science and computer labs in one wing, while the other has English, languages and humanities.
A large art studio is at the centre of the first floor, with panoramic views of the Purbeck hills and a gallery space on the balcony above the hall. Next to this is the hub – our centre for those that need additional support.
We have a full-sized (four badminton court) Sports Hall which gets extensive use, both by students and the wider community outside school hours. More information about sport and the sports facilities is available here.
Outside areas
The school has grass pitches (one full-sized and one smaller pitch shared with St Mark's Primary next door) and an all-weather Astro pitch. Beyond that is space for a permaculture, science gardens and a nature area.
